What ties the six together

One line, face to body to lips.

This isn't six unrelated products in a box. Aloe is on five of the six labels, hyaluronic acid is on four, and Clinique makes all six fragrance free. Here's what Clinique says those ingredients are there to do.

1

Aloe bioferment

Clinique says it concentrates aloe "over 500 times," then ferments it in "a meticulous 10-step fermentation process over 5+ days." The result, per Clinique, "helps skin retain moisture." Aloe in some form is on five of the six labels.

2

Two sizes of hyaluronic acid

Clinique says the 100H is blended with "two different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid" to help create a "moisture reservoir." Hyaluronic acid, listed as sodium hyaluronate, is on four of the six labels.

3

Vitamin C, for the look of glow

The serum pairs 5% lactic acid with vitamin C, which Clinique says "helps brighten the look of skin." Clinique also says the serum "clinically improves skin's radiance."

99%

say skin feels deeply hydrated after a week with the 100H.

Clinique consumer testing, 110 women, 1 week. Self-reported.
97%

show an instant boost in hydration after one use of the Active Glow Serum.

Clinique clinical testing, 31 women, after one use.
48 hrs

Clinique says the Body Hydrator clinically improves skin's moisture levels for 48 hours.

Clinique clinical testing, 29 women, after one use.

Figures and quoted claims are Clinique's, from its clinique.com product pages (checked October 2026), with Clinique's own sample sizes. Individual results vary.

Your routine, mapped

Morning or night: where each of the six goes.

Six pieces sounds like a lot. It's one face routine plus lips and body, and Clinique's own directions put most of it morning and night. Pick a time of day.

The cleanser is once a day. When do you want it?

Morning: 5 of the 6 pieces

Start with 3 drops of serum, then the 100H. Lips and body next. The mist goes on whenever you want it, even over makeup. Then your own sunscreen.

Your morning, in order

  1. 1AM + PMActive Glow Serum"Start with 3 drops," on clean skin. It has 5% lactic acid, so sunscreen matters today.
  2. 2AM + PM100H Auto-Replenishing HydratorMorning and night on clean skin. Start with a little and add more if you need it.
  3. 3AnytimeFace Spray Thirsty Skin ReliefUnder or over makeup, "whenever skin feels thirsty." Hold it 10 to 12 inches away, eyes closed.
  4. 4Day + nightLip Hydro-Plump Treatment"Apply day and night." Before lipstick, Clinique suggests a generous layer left on as a 5-minute lip mask.
  5. 5AM + PMBody Hydrator"Use morning and night, or whenever skin needs a moisture boost."
  6. +Not includedYour own sunscreenClinique's serum warning: "Use sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using and the week after."
  7. Once a dayExfoliating Glow CleanserNot this morning. It's once a day, and you picked nights.

Built from Clinique's directions for each piece. Clinique's cleanser page gives the order: cleanser, then the Active Glow Serum, then a Moisture Surge moisturizer. The cleanser shows up once because Clinique says to use it once daily. This set has no SPF.

Who this set is for

Your face isn't the only thing that's dry.

For a lot of its fans, Moisture Surge was the gel-cream that finally didn't feel greasy or heavy. This set is for when the dry spots don't stop at your jawline.

Dry climate, dry winters

Your skin feels tight by midday.

You live somewhere dry, or winter does it to you. The 100H is a light, oil-free gel-cream, and Clinique says it "provides 100 hours of stabilizing hydration." The body lotion and lip treatment cover what a face cream never did.

Years with Moisture Surge

You already know the 100H.

Reviewers mention using Moisture Surge for years, one of them for over 20. This set keeps the 100H at the center and adds the five steps around it, all from the same fragrance-free line.

Still wears makeup

You want foundation to sit right.

Clinique says the 100H "provides a smooth canvas for makeup application," the face spray goes "under or over makeup," and the lip treatment "preps lips for lip color."

How it stacks up

Columns describe common product types, not specific brands. "var" means it varies by product. If you want rich and heavy, Clinique says its Moisture Surge Intense 72H, a different product that isn't in this set, has "a richer cream-gel texture designed for very dry skin."

How to use them

A few drops, a little gel, eyes closed for the mist.

  1. Cleanse once a day

Massage over your face, avoiding the eye area, and rinse thoroughly. Clinique's warning: "Avoid use on active breakouts."

  2. Three drops of serum

Morning and night on clean skin. Clinique: "Start with 3 drops, adding more if preferred."

  3. A little 100H

Morning and night on clean skin. Start small and add more if your skin wants it. Several reviewers say you only need a little.

  4. Mist, lips, body

Hold the spray 10 to 12 inches away and close your eyes. Clinique: "Avoid spraying into eyes." Lip treatment day and night. Body lotion morning and night.

Sunscreen is yours to addThis set has no SPF. Clinique's serum warning: "Use sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using and the week after."
Fragrance free, not scent freeNo fragrance is added, so you may notice the natural scent of the formula. A few reviewers do.
"100 hours" is Clinique's figureIt's Clinique's clinical claim for the 100H, not a promise you'll never need to reapply on a dry day.

What buyers say, both ways.

Most public reviews are of the set's hero, the 100H gel-cream, on its own. These are the patterns from those reviews and from buyers of this set.

What people like
  • Hydration that isn't greasyThe most common praise for the 100H: it sinks in fast and doesn't feel greasy or sticky. One fan calls it "one and done."
  • Comfortable on dry daysDry-climate and winter buyers say their skin stays comfortable through the day.
  • A good base for makeupMany wear the 100H under foundation. Some say it works like a primer.
  • Nothing scented to react toBuyers who avoid fragrance point to the lack of added scent.
What to know
  • Very sensitive skin: mixedThe same group that loves it writes the harshest reviews. A few with very sensitive or rosacea-prone skin report stinging, redness or burning from the 100H. Try a small area first.
  • Lightweight means lightweightSome very dry buyers put a creamier moisturizer on top, or switch to Clinique's richer Intense version in winter.
  • A little goes a long wayPilling and a sticky feel come up in reviews. Start small.

Questions before you buy

Are these full size or minis?

Full retail sizes, no deluxe minis. The cleanser (125 ml), body hydrator (200 ml) and lip treatment (10 ml) each come in one size, and that's the size here. The serum is Clinique's standard 30 ml. The face spray is the full 125 ml, not the 1 fl oz travel size. The 100H is the 30 ml (1 oz) jar, a retail size Clinique sells and the smaller of its two main sizes. The 1.7 oz jar is the more common one.

Is The Vital Core part of Clinique?

No. We're an independent retailer, and we're not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Clinique or The Estée Lauder Companies. Your order, shipping and returns are handled by us, under our own policies.

Does "100 hours" mean I never have to reapply?

No. "Provides 100 hours of stabilizing hydration" is Clinique's clinical claim for the 100H. It isn't a promise about how your skin will feel on day four. One happy 100H reviewer still called the 100 hours "an over reach" and added, "I reapply often." On a dry day, reapply when your skin asks for it.

My skin is very sensitive or rosacea-prone. Will this work for me?

We can't promise that, and here's why. Clinique lists the 100H for all skin types including sensitive, and says the serum and body hydrator are safe for sensitive skin. Plenty of sensitive-skin buyers love the 100H. But the harshest reviews also come from very sensitive, rosacea-prone skin: a few report stinging, redness or a burning feeling. The serum contains 5% lactic acid and the cleanser contains salicylic acid. Try each piece on a small area first and stop if anything stings. If you're managing a skin condition, ask your dermatologist.

My skin gets very dry in winter. Is the 100H enough?

For some people, no, and that's worth knowing before you buy. Clinique describes the 100H as "a lightweight, oil-free gel-cream texture." It positions a different product, Moisture Surge Intense 72H, as having "a richer cream-gel texture designed for very dry skin." Intense isn't in this set. One dry-climate buyer uses the 100H in summer and Intense in winter, and another puts a creamier moisturizer on top of the 100H. If lightweight has never been enough for your skin, this set may not be either.

Does it contain silicone or acids?

Yes to both. Dimethicone, a silicone, is in the 100H (it's the second ingredient), the serum and the body hydrator. The serum contains 5% lactic acid, the cleanser contains salicylic acid, and the 100H has citric acid low on its list. Full ingredient lists for all six are above.

Is the set sulfate free?

No. The cleanser contains sodium laureth sulfate. Clinique lists the body hydrator as free of SLES and SLS.

It says fragrance free. Why can I smell something?

Fragrance free means no fragrance is added. You may still notice the natural scent of the formula, and a few 100H reviewers mention it. Buyers who avoid fragrance tend to call that a plus.

Can I use it alongside a prescription retinoid?

Ask whoever prescribed it. The serum contains 5% lactic acid and the cleanser contains salicylic acid, both exfoliating ingredients, so check before adding those two to a prescription routine.
